Day 1: 
Welcome to Turkey and the start of your awesome ANZAC experience! Choice of shuttle transfers to hotel. Rest of the day free in Istanbul, a city that straddles both Europe and Asia! Overnight - Istanbul

Day 2: Istanbul - breakfast

Enjoy our classic city tour taking in the Hippodrome area, the stunning Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, underground cistern and more. Overnight - Istanbul

Days 3 & 4: Istanbul - Cappadocia - breakfast

Via the nation’s capital, Ankara, where we visit mausoleum of Atatürk - the founding father of modern Turkey we strike east to Cappadocia. Whole troglodyte villages, subterranean churches and fortresses hewn from the soft, eroded volcanic rock have made Cappadocia one of Turkey’s finest attractions. Enjoy a guided tour on day 4 taking in Göreme Valley, Zelve with its phallic-like eroded landscape of so-called ‘fairy chimneys’ and more. Dinner and overnight (2) - Cappadocia region

Day 5: Cappadocia - Antalya - breakfast

Heading south along an ancient Silk Road, we visit an old caravanserai in Sultanhani. In pious Konya, we tour the Mevlana Whirling Dervish Museum before continuing to the Mediterranean coast. Dinner and overnight - Antalya

Day 6: Antalya - breakfast
Today, we explore the Roman ruins of Perge and Aspendos. Perge boasts a great theatre, stadium, colonnaded street and impressive baths, whilst Aspendos has a Roman theatre - restored on the orders of Atatürk. Dinner and overnight - Antalya

Days 7 & 8: Antalya - Fethiye - breakfast

Following the stunning Mediterranean coast, we visit Saklikent Gorge - a natural wonder of breathtaking beauty, where we can perhaps enjoy an invigorating dip in the ice cold waters that cut a swathe through the fissure. En route to Fethiye, a seaside town on the Turquoise coast, we also stop at a carpet dyeing, weaving and manufacturing house. Enjoy all of day 8 free to do your own thing in Fethiye. Consider opting for a boat cruise to some of the offshore islands, explore the Lycian ruins dotted about or just maroon yourself in a bar! Dinner and overnight (2) - Fethiye

Day 9: Fethiye - Pamukkale - breakfast

Today, we drive north to Pamukkale. Famous for its unique cascades of natural mineral rich pools, perhaps opt for a swim at Pamukkale Thermal. Dinner and overnight - Pamukkale

Day 11: Kusadasi - Ayvalik - breakfast

Driving north, we visit the Roman ruins of Pergamum with it’s steep hillside amphitheatre (good photo call) & neighbouring asclepion (ancient medical centre). We then continue to Ayvalik on the Aegean coast. Dinner and overnight - Ayvalik

Day 12: Ayvalik - Gallipoli - breakfast
Departing early, we enjoy a short visit to Homer’s Troy, famed for its Trojan wooden horse and the fabled Helen. Via a ferry crossing at Canakkale, we continue to the Gallipoli Peninsular. This afternoon, enjoy a guided tour aboard the coach (where subject to traffic from time to time we can get off and explore) of the evocative war memorials that dot the region, for example; Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair, The Nek and Johnston’s Jolly not to mention the masses of trenches and Kabatepe - the modest ANZAC museum (subject to timings) and memorial gardens. Tonight, we’ll relax at our exclusive catered ANZAC Eve Turkish BBQ before later grabbing some space at the atmospheric ANZAC Eve vigil. BBQ Dinner and overnight - Dawn Service site (ANZAC Cove)

Day 13, ANZAC day: Gallipoli - Istanbul

First light heralds the Dawn Service. After, with maps in hand, you’re free to explore the many memorials dotted en route as you make your way to Lone Pine or Chunuk Bair for the Australian or New Zealand National services. This afternoon, we return to Istanbul, arriving late tonight. (timings on 25 April subject to coach traffic). Overnight - Istanbul

Day 14: Istanbul - breakfast

Free time this morning. In the afternoon, enjoy a cruise on the stunning Bosphorus, the body of water which separates European from Asian Istanbul. When the sun sets, enjoy Istanbul by night! With dinner, belly dancers and entertainment at a central Istanbul venue, it’s a top value evening and a great way to celebrate the end of the ANZAC smoko tour (transport shuttles provided). Overnight - Istanbul

Day 15: Istanbul - breakfast

End of arrangements.


Topkapi Palace is closed on Tuesdays, whilst the Hagia Sofia is closed on Mondays. Please consider this when booking. Grand Bazaar and Egyptian Spice Market are both closed on Sundays.
